The Scholarship
The Junior League of Washington Meg Graham Scholarship Endowment…Celebrating Service and Leadership, in honor of the late Reverend Margaret M. Graham, is an annual scholarship program available to graduating seniors of Washington DC public and charter schools. The scholarship rewards outstanding volunteerism with funds for college education expenses. Students who have been accepted to an accredited post-secondary institution and demonstrate a strong academic record and significant volunteer service may apply for the Meg Graham Scholarship.

This year the Meg Graham Scholarship celebrates 26 years of promoting academic excellence and volunteer service within underserved communities. The scholarship honors the late Reverend Margaret M. Graham, a past president of the Association of Junior Leagues International, former Rector of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Georgetown, and co-founder of the National Alliance to End Homelessness. The Meg Graham Scholarship honors her inspiring legacy of leadership and volunteer service.
The Walk
As a way of honoring her legacy of leadership and service to our League and many worthy causes, the Junior League of Washington will host the Third Annual Junior League of Washington Literacy Walk to Benefit the Meg Graham Scholarship on Saturday, April 18, 2009. Proceeds from the Walk will benefit the JLW Meg Graham Scholarship Endowment...Celebrating Service and Leadership.
The two-mile walk will start at 9:00 a.m. at Montrose Park, 3099 R Street, NW, in Washington DC. It is open to the public, to all Junior League members, their families and friends. There will be a $25 registration fee for adults and a $15 fee for individuals under the age of 18.
Register Online. There will be no on-site registration, and registration fees are non-refundable. If you are not able to participate in the walk, we welcome your donation to benefit the JLW Meg Graham Scholarship Endowment...Celebrating Service and Leadership.
