On Friday, November 17, the shopping weekend kicks off with the grand opening event, A Winter Wonderland. Taking place from 6 – 11 p.m., this event will feature food and cocktails from local restaurants, a wine pull, a gift card tree, and a silent auction. This year, the silent auction will be available on Handbid, an app that allows you to bid from anywhere. The silent auction may be found at hand.bid/jlwhs17.
On Saturday, November 18, between 1 – 3 p.m., adults can bring their furry friends to Dock5 for a photo with Santa. On Sunday, November 19, between 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., kids can participate in Family Fun Day, with activities that include a Santa letter-writing activity, a fun craft, and photos taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
JLW’s trained volunteers serve the Washington, DC, community in a variety of ways, including at the National Book Festival, the Washington School for Girls, Calvary Women’s Services, and more than 20 other DC-area nonprofits.
