A Message from the President of JLW on January 6 Current Events

The Junior League of Washington is closely watching the events currently unfolding on the steps of the Capitol. We know that many members, staff, family, and friends of JLW work and live in the Capitol complex and surrounding neighborhoods. We are keeping each and every one of you in our thoughts. Please heed Mayor Bowser’s curfew of 6:00 p.m. ET and stay safe.

If you, or your family, need support or there is anything that we can do to help you during this difficult time to stay safe, please contact me at president@jlw.org. We have many members who have offered their homes and other resources, if needed.

As the events continue to unfold, JLW will be postponing any previously scheduled events and Committee meetings for this evening while the current unrest continues. We are also closely monitoring activity near our Headquarters and ensuring that our staff and tenants are safe and secure.

Thank you for your understanding and we hope that you, your family, and close ones, stay safe. Together we will navigate these difficult and trying times in our beautiful and shining city.

In Service,

Jessica Taylor White
