Community Services

Members of the Junior League of Washington (JLW) live and work in and around the Washington, DC, area, and are committed to helping the community we all share to thrive.

To that end, JLW focuses on training members on the essentials of volunteering as well as higher-level skills that are in demand by community organizations. Armed with these skills, our 2,300 volunteers are sent into the community to aid where their expertise is needed most. That can mean tutoring a child, mentoring parents at a daycare center for homeless children, or delivering life skills seminars to community members in recovery programs.

Since 1999, JLW has focused its energy on addressing the literacy needs of our community. We encourage you to explore these pages to discover the impact JLW makes and how you can help.
