2018 Request for Proposal for the Junior League of Washington Day of Service

The Junior League of Washington (JLW) is pleased to announce the posting of the Request for Proposal (RFP) for the League-wide Day of Service on Saturday, April 7, 2018, from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. Shifts should ideally be 2-4 hours in length. The goal of the JLW Day of Service is to engage our more than 2,300 members, and their friends, spouses, and children, in meaningful projects around the DC community to maximize our impact on a single day. We are looking for eight to ten (8-10) community partners that can accommodate 5 – 100+ volunteers at each location.

For this Day of Service, JLW is looking for projects that align with our mission and improve the community through the effective action of trained volunteers. Preference will be given to opportunities where JLW volunteers will provide the majority of volunteer support.

The timeline for the selection process is as follows:

Step 1: Submit a response to the RFP available here no later than 8 p.m. on Thursday, February 22, 2018. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and early submission is encouraged but not required. Due to the tight timeline for the application review process, we are unable to accept late submissions.

Step 2: Participants in the Day of Service will be notified of their selection on a rolling basis, no later than Friday, March 2, 2018. If your organization is selected, you will work closely with JLW to coordinate logistics and ensure that your organization’s goals are aligned with JLW. JLW will work internally to find the requested number and type of volunteers.

Step 3: Day of Service volunteers will participate in a project at your site on Saturday, April 7, 2018.

The timeline specified in this memorandum is subject to change, so check JLW’s website for updates or email dayofservice@jlw.org. Any other questions can be directed to this email address.
