The Junior League of Washington’s Women’s Leadership Breakfast is a can’t miss opportunity to learn from women who are making a positive impact for their companies and communities.
The 2021 Women’s Leadership Breakfast was held on Friday, April 30, 2021 and allowed attendees to hear from leading women in the Washington, DC community and helped them develop the skills to lead confidently – no matter the circumstances.
The breakfast featured keynote speaker Susan Goldberg, Editor-in-Chief of National Geographic. Under her leadership, National Geographic has been honored with nine National Magazine Awards, including four awards in 2020 and the top prize for General Excellence in 2019. In addition to awards for journalism, Goldberg has been recognized repeatedly for leadership. In 2013, she was voted one of Washington’s “11 Most Influential Women in the Media” by Washingtonian Magazine.
The event also featured a fireside chat between two local D.C. women who are outstanding in their fields, moderated by award-winning journalist and WUSA9 weeknight anchor Lesli Foster:
Gina Schaefer – Owner and Operator of 13 ACE Hardware stores
Carla Hayden, PhD – 14th Librarian of Congress
Additionally, Dr. Laura Morgan Roberts, a Professor of Practice at the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business, conducted a training on how to activate our best self and do so confidently.
The event wouldn’t have been possible without the generous support of our sponsors.
We look forward to holding the 2022 Women’s Leadership Breakfast in spring 2022.
